During the meeting, the Parties discussed present situation in Ukraine and the issue on holding clear and transparent presidential elections.
According to Oleksandr Turchynov, new government has initiated reforming political and socio-economic sphere to accelerate Ukrainian way towards Europe.
“The only problem that prevents Ukraine from stabilization is Russia’s occupation of the Crimea’s territory”, he said.
He stressed that Russia’s aggression against Ukraine is a challenge not only for Ukraine but for the whole system of global security.
Oleksandr Turchynov expressed hope for the OSCE and other international institutions clear estimation of “these dangerous processes”.
In the context of discussing presidential campaign, the Parties paid particular attention to necessity of holding fair, transparent and democratic elections.
“It is fundamental for us that elections should be fair and transparent”, said Oleksandr Turchynov.
In his turn, Joao Soares stressed that a part of the OSCE observer mission has already arrived to Kyiv, “number of observers will be increasing close to the elections”.
